About Covey Island Electric

Covey Island Boatworks

At Covey Island Boatworks we built our 1st Solar Electric Ketch in 2004 and our 1st Hybrid yacht designed by Sparkman & Stephens in 2006. Electric & Hybrid marine propulsion is finally gaining in popularity and is more widely accepted now thanks to the automotive industry, advances in Lithium and AGM batteries, Regeneration, and public interest in sustainability and our environment.

As a result of the growing interest and demand for electric and hybrid boating solutions, Covey Island Boatworks is now selling the leading electric motors, outboards, inboards and sail drives. We will help design a fully integrated solution for your new boat and install it or repower your current boat. If you are interested in a new boat, we will design and build it with the propulsion system that meets your requirements. Alternatively, you may purchase the motors and other components directly from us. We stock the most popular ones and ship anywhere in Canada or the USA.

driven by noble energy

Why Choose Solbian - Manufactured in Italy

The sense of freedom, the rushing wind and water: experiencing the sea on a yacht moving in perfect harmony with nature is a passionate experience. Since 2007, the same passion has been driving Solbian to produce SolbianFlex photovoltaic panels: innovative, flexible, light and highly efficient. They provide energy where it is needed, a natural and environmentally-friendly source. Giovanni Soldini was one of the first sailors to choose SolbianFlex panels for his adventurous oceanic crossings, testing their quality and reliability in the harsh conditions on board. SolbianFlex panels are particularly suited to sailing yachts, but they are equally suited to applications in electric mobility, caravans and campers, trekking, tents and mountain huts, emergency structures and building integrated projects.
